In Memory
KIRK PREHEIM
October 18, 1951- March 4, 2013

Kirk Preheim, founder and tenor singer for Gospel Gold Quartet, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2013.  He is remembered by many for his positive attitude, his smile, and his kindness. How he loved to tell a story and share how God was working in his life. We cherish the memories and although we miss him dearly, we know that he is resting safely in the arms of God. His legacy lives on as Gospel Gold continues to sing and minister in our Savior's name.

 I'm Spending Easter With
Jesus Christ This Year

I see the countless beautiful trees
     Around the world below,
And tiny lights like heaven’s stars
     Reflecting all aglow.

The sight is so spectacular,
     please wipe away a tear,
For I’m a spending Easter
     With Jesus Christ this year!

I hear the many Easter songs
     That people hold so dear,
But the sounds of the music can’t compare
With the Easter choir up here!

For I have no words to tell you
     The joy their voices bring.
For it’s beyond description
     To hear an angel sing.

I know how much you miss me,
For I feel your breaking hearts …
But through our memories so dear,
     We’re never far apart.

I can’t tell you of the splendor
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you imagine Easter with
     Our Savior face to face?

I’ll ask him to light your spirit
As I tell him of your love,
So then pray for one another
As you lift your eyes above.

So, please let your hearts be joyful,
     And let your spirit sing.
For I’m spending Easter in heaven
And I’m walking with the King!!

GOD NEVER FAILS

We sang for a Sunday morning worship service recently where a four year old boy became quite enamored with the quartet after they sang 'He Never Failed Me Yet'. He turned to his Mom and asked, "You mean God has never failed those guys?" To this small child it was quite unbelievable . . . .  and if God had never failed those men standing before him, then God wouldn't fail him either! Unbelievable, yes . . . yet we know this to be true.

When Moses knew he could no longer lead the Israelites, he told Joshua:
"The Lord will lead you. He himself is with you. He will not fail you or leave you."
Deuteronomy 31:8

Later Joshua encouraged the people:
"You know that the Lord your God has not failed in any of his promises. He has kept every promise that he has made to us."  Joshua 23:14b

And in the great commission Jesus tells his followers:
"So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you to do. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time." Matthew 28:19,20

That is why we sing! That is why we share the Good News of Jesus Christ! The message is simple enough for the very young, profound enough for the educated, still amazing to the very old and reassuring to all. The unbelievable is now believable for God has never failed us yet!
